Last night could have been a special landmark for Jurgen Klopp and his side. That victory over Fulham may have heralded the coming of a new era. After all, Klopp launched his Liverpool 2.0 last summer. And that victory was achieved with a low of new faces who are expected to be the part of this new upgrade.

But on top of that, for Klopp, this was qualifying to another appearance at Wembley. Another final. On top of all the success and honours he has brought to Anfield, this was proof that his quench for success has not dried up yet.

The Liverpool boss is still very determined to deliver more honours and accolades for the club. The fact that Liverpool are still fighting on all four fronts is evidence of that as well. But the fact that Klopp could be about to do something he has never done is also yet another sign of his continued determination.

Jurgen Klopp could be about to do something he has never done

Despite having won everything he can at Liverpool so far. Klopp has never actually won the same trophy twice. By beating Fulham last night, he could be about to do that for the first time.

Chelsea will await Liverpool in the League Cup final. It’s a familiar foe. An opponent Klopp has defeated in three finals over the last few years already. All of those finals ended-up in penalty shoot-outs, which is probably a prospect the Liverpool boss wants to avoid this time.

But it’s not just Chelsea who Klopp will be familiar with. In Mauricio Pochettino, Klopp will face a manager he has already defeated in the Champions League back in 2019. All of that will undoubtedly give Chelsea more impetus to strike revenge, but Klopp will be determined to write history.

And the prospect of doing something he has never done before at Anfield is definitely a huge motivation. Klopp’s Liverpool side deserves more silverware and the League Cup final is the perfect opportunity to secure it.
