The last couple of days at Liverpool have been dominated by Jurgen Klopp’s stunning admission that he’s leaving the club in the summer.
But while the reaction to that rumbles on, Liverpool do in fact have a game to prepare for this weekend.
The Reds take on Norwich City in the FA Cup fourth round at Anfield tomorrow. No doubt Klopp will be delighted to get back to business after a strange two or three days.
With Norwich now a Championship side once again, Liverpool will obviously be favourites to progress. That could give Jurgen the chance to try out one or two more fringe players.
In preparation of that, there were some interesting faces spotted during yesterday’s training session. Having been on fire in the underage sides recently, Jayden Danns bagged what could well be a very first call-up to senior training.
The 18-year-old scored a brilliant double in the FA Youth Cup last week and this has obviously convinced Klopp that he’s got first-team potential.
Danns earns senior call-up
Excitement over Danns has been bubbling under for a little while now. All the way back in January 2023, U18s coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson was already raving about the potential of the striker.
More recently, U21s head honcho Barry Lewtas has been full of praise for the youngster’s ability to get goals.
“Dannsy has been brilliant for the U18s,” Lewtas told liverpoolfc.com at the end of November. “He’s scored goals, all different types of goals and he’s looked like a real No.9.”
With Mohamed Salah still out of action, Klopp will like the sound of anyone who can stick the ball in the back of the net. Danns clearly can.

Despite Salah’s absence though, the Reds still have plenty of firepower besides. That would perhaps make it unlikely that Danns makes the squad for tomorrow’s game.
But the fact that he’s in training alongside the likes of Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota should fill him with confidence.
As well as Danns, fellow young striker Lewis Koumas was also spotted at the AXA Training Centre alongside Liverpool’s senior stars. Koumas has been in similarly superb form in the academy – he bagged a hat-trick just last week – and is obviously on Klopp’s radar, too.
Go out and impress the boss while you still can, lads!
