Surprisingly, there are quite a few former Premier League players’ children who are playing for Liverpool’s academy at the moment. Most of them are catching the eye in attack as well.

From Maynor Figueroa’s son, Keyrol, Neil Danns’ son, Jayden to Jason Koumas’ son Lewis – who is probably the closest to the first team at the moment.

In fact, he may already be knocking on Jurgen Klopp’s door with his recent performances, having really caught the eye for the club’s U21 side this season.

Lewis Koumas impressing for Liverpool

The 18-year-old has been described as ‘outstanding’ in the past by Liverpool coaches at the academy, and he was awarded with a place in pre-season training during last summer.

Koumas even made an appearance in a couple of games and never looked out of place.

Since then he has buckled down and has started the season really well so far with seven goal contributions in nine competitive games.

In all competitions he has six goals and three assists so far this season playing on the wing and he’s recently been involved in the club’s first team squad for the Europa League game against Union SG.

Although he never made it to the pitch on that night, a first team debut is surely brewing for Koumas at this stage.

Recently, he’s scored another goal in Liverpool U21’s defeat to Athletic Bilbao and if he continues in this form, it’s only a matter of time until he gets that long awaited opportunity.
