Things are clicking into gear for Liverpool at the moment. The Reds are flying high and getting one strong result after another. Impressively, Jurgen Klopp’s side are still competing on all four fronts. And after last night, they have a League Cup final to look forward to as well.
One of the biggest factors why Liverpool have been able to experience this revival has definitely been the return to form of Virgil van Dijk. Named as the club’s captain at the start of the season – Van Dijk has simply rediscovered his best form.
Once again, he looks like the formidable centre-back that he always was until that injury against Everton. And now a BBC pundit has also recognised the Liverpool captain for his current form.

BBC pundit on Virgil van Dijk
Speaking on the BBC after Liverpool’s win over Fulham last night, former footballer Chris Sutton drew special praise for Virgil van Dijk. Sutton described the Liverpool captain as having returned back to his best.
“There is a confidence about Liverpool, Virgil van Dijk looks back to his best and Jarell Quansah looks like he has been about for years,” Sutton said.
“You have talked about all the injuries, but blimey Manchester City will look at this team and be worried about them now.”
Sutton is right, Van Dijk is simply sensational at the moment. And the BBC pundit is not the only one who has noticed just how the Dutchman has been. Recently, Jamie Carragher lauded Van Dijk as ‘outstanding’ for his performances as well.
