Considering, the form Bournemouth have been in this season, Liverpool’s 4-0 thumping tonight was an incredible result. Especially when you put into context how many key players were missing for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The likes of Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold were all unavailable for the Reds. Considering, all four of those would be regular starters, that’s close to half of the first eleven missing.

That’s before you even mention the likes of Wataru Endo and Joel Matip. Yet despite the key absentees, Liverpool delivered a masterclass. Especially in the second-half. And Klopp’s side showed just why they are fighting for the title this season.

Alexis Mac Allister’s impressive stats

Mac Allister produced a stellar performance for Liverpool on th

e night. Not only did he win the most duels (12) for Liverpool in the game against Bournemouth, he also created the most chances (4) and was the most fouled player (3) as well.

Fantastic on the ball, Klopp praised Mac Allister as an ‘outstanding player’ in his post-match interview after the game.

And while all of that is impressive, perhaps the most impressive statistic from Mac Allister on the night was the fact that he matched Trent Alexander-Arnold record this season. The Argentine made 14 recoveries against Bournemouth which is the most recoveries anyone has made for Liverpool this season in a single game. This really impressive output was previously achieved by Alexander-Arnold against Everton as per FBref.

There is no denying this was one of Mac Allister’s best performances in a Liverpool shirt. Hopefully, there is a lot more to come.
