Liverpool got just what they came for at the Vitality Stadium against Bournemouth. Jurgen Klopp wanted his side to continue in winning ways and Liverpool delivered exactly that.

There were so many brilliant individual performances. From the goal-scorers to the assist-makers. Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez will both grab the headlines for their respective braces. But it wasn’t just the Uruguayan and the Portuguese who caught the eye.

In fact, in his post-match interview with Sky Sports, Jurgen Klopp waxed lyrical about a player who did not even get on the score-sheet. Nonetheless, he put in a sublime performance which may have been his best yet in a Liverpool shirt.

Jurgen Klopp on Alexis Mac Allister

Speaking in his post-match interview with Sky Sports, Klopp was quick to praise Alexis Mac Allister as outstanding and said on the ball he may be better than any number six you can imagine.

“He’s incredibly smart. As long as you can create a compact formation, Macca is an outstanding six. On the ball better than all sixes you can imagine. Against the ball, he’s really strong,” Klopp said.

“If the pitch is too big half-spaces too open, I don’t know a lot of sixes who are then great, there might be a few who [come out well] on the defensive side of it, but the game he played today was outstanding.”

We couldn’t agree more, Alexis Mac Allister was superb for Liverpool on the night, and proved just why the Reds bought him in the summer. The Argentine is simply sensational and he has the ability to control games single-handedly in the middle of the park. Which is exactly what he did against Bournemouth. Hopefully, he will continue doing the same, again and again.
