Liverpool players are now embarking on their winter break following a successful first-half of the season.
Despite Virgil van Dijk joking that the pause isn’t long enough, there’ll be eleven days between Liverpool’s last and next games.
During that time, it seems that many of the Reds will be heading off on holiday. Alexis Mac Allister posted on his Instagram earlier today to show off a stroll along the beach in sunnier climbs, and he isn’t the only one jetting away from Merseyside.
Trent Alexander-Arnold also took to Instagram, posting on his stories to share what he’s up to.
And while Mac Allister is taking in the peace and quiet of the beach, Trent has opted for a rather noisier break.
Being filmed walking out of a building in Milan, Liverpool’s right-back is met with a chorus of screams as he wanders out into the street. With fans lined up behind barriers, it isn’t clear whether the excitement is for Trent, or for other famous faces being spotted. Whoever it was for, it was a heck of a reception.
Trent generates excitement in Milan
Sometimes it’s easy to forget that Alexander-Arnold is one of the game’s truly global stars.
As a born and raised Scouser, the 25-year-old is Liverpool through and through. Nevertheless, that won’t stop other teams dreaming about him in their side.
Who’s to say these fans in Milan weren’t screaming for Liverpool’s No.66 and for him to join them at San Siro.
If they were, then they’re likely to be disappointed. Although they have two great teams over in the Italian capital of fashion, neither are at the Reds’ current level.

Furthermore, Liverpool are reportedly set to begin talks with Alexander-Arnold over a new contract.
With around 18 months set to run on his deal, they need to make sure they don’t leave themselves in a tricky situation. Plenty of teams will be keeping an eye out just in case Liverpool mess those talks up. But the expectation should be that Trent will sign and stay for years to come.
We shouldn’t take that for granted, though. The full-back could feasibly play for any team on the planet and the Reds will have to keep that in mind during those discussions.
The screams in Milan were almost Beatles-esque in their excitement. These days, Alexander-Arnold is another fantastic symbol of the city he hails from.
