It’s clear which club Jurgen Klopp should send Fabio Carvalho on loan to in January

Liverpool have to be extremely careful when selecting Fabio Carvalho’s next loan move.

Having become furious with his lack of playing time for RB Leipzig this season, Liverpool have recalled Carvalho at the earliest possible opportunity.

There is an argument that they should actually keep the 21-year-old around to aid their title push for the rest of the season. But according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Carvalho will be sent out on-loan again.

Another to weigh in on the youngster’s situation is Rudy Galetti, who has today reported that a clutch of teams – including Everton– have already asked about taking Fabio until the summer.

One of those clubs is Wolves. And of all the teams currently said to be interested, Gary O’Neil’s team sound like the perfect scenario.

As a former Liverpool coach, you’d imagine O’Neil has some kind of relationship with Klopp. As the Reds look to keep tabs on Carvalho and make sure he gets enough game time, that could be the deciding factor.

Wolves perfect for Carvalho

It isn’t just because of O’Neil that Wolves would feel like a good solution for Carvalho.

Being of Portuguese background, what better club could he find? Wolves are well-known to have a strong and constant connection to Portugal, and in particular to agent Jorge Mendes.

Although Carvalho is not a client of Mendes,’ talks would surely be smooth and without trouble with Wolves.

As clubs, Liverpool and the Molineux side have also done business in the past, too. They came to a mutually beneficial agreement for the transfers of Diogo Jota and Ki-Jana Hoever in 2020.

As they reportedly hold interest in Pedro Neto, perhaps helping Wolves out with a little loan for Carvalho could help on that front as well.

From a playing point of view, O’Neil plays a system that benefits roving attackers like Hwang Hee-Chan and Pablo Sarabia. Not wide forwards like Liverpool’s, this is more set-up for No.10s like Carvalho to succeed in.

With Wolves doing well, there is competition for places which could be a concern. But if Fabio could get himself in the team, he’d be playing in a very good level Premier League side. That would help both he and Liverpool.

It remains to be seen which other teams come forward for Carvalho. But in our mind, there’s only one winner. Someone get Gary on the phone!
