Liverpool are looking at sending several players out on-loan during the January transfer window.
With today signalling the start of the New Year, the European winter market is now open. Liverpool have already made use of that, recalling Fabio Carvalho from his disappointing loan spell at RB Leipzig.
And as we prepare for the month ahead, The Athletic have detailed what else we can expect from the Reds.
In terms of incomings, the pickings are unfortunately incredibly slim. Liverpool reportedly aren’t expected to do any business at all unless further injuries require the need to act.
Instead, the focus will be on moving along a clutch of players who need more regular game time.
Carvalho is one of these, with it being claimed that the 21-year-old is already ‘attracting interest’ for a second-half of the season loan. Nat Phillips is another Liverpool are said to be open to offers for, while 18-year-old midfielder Bobby Clark is reportedly set to be loaned out in order to gain ‘senior experience’.
Clark set for loan spell
Clark actually very nearly left Liverpool on-loan right at the end of the summer window.
However, a reported move to Derby County is said to have been blocked by Jurgen Klopp, who seemingly had plans to use the youngster in the Europa League.
In the end that never happened. Clark has been dealing with injury issues for much of the season so far and has failed to kick on after a promising season last year.
As a result, it feels like a loan move would be a good way of reigniting the excitement over the former Newcastle prospect.

There’s a reason Liverpool spent £1.5m to lure him away from his boyhood club back in 2021.
Big things are still expected from Clark and if he can get out to a Championship side and do well, there’s definitely still a future for him at Anfield.
Not turning 19 until next month, there’s no need to panic for a player who already has two Liverpool appearances under his belt.
Nevertheless, it does feel like a bit of a cross-roads for young Bobby. Carvalho’s recent experience at Leipzig shows how a temporary move can set a player back. The right club must be chosen, but we’re confident that if it can be, Clark will show his quality.
