Liverpool have been dealt a blow, with one of their talented youngsters set to miss the rest of the year through injury.
The Reds have had to contend with a couple of issues with their young prospects this season. And while the Liverpool ECHO report that there’s good news on the Conor Bradley front, there’s bad news elsewhere.
Bradley has missed the whole season so far having looked sharp during the summer friendlies. Thankfully, the 20-year-old is reportedly back in first-team training and could even play for the U21s tonight.
There’s no such luck for 18-year-old Bobby Clark though, who hasn’t been able to build on his two senior outings for Liverpool last season.
And now, it’s claimed that the former Newcastle United prospect won’t get the chance to do so until 2024. Clark reportedly ‘isn’t expected’ to play again until after the New Year.
Clark set to sit out until 2024
After an excellent 2022, 2023 has been a little bit disappointing for Clark.
Having made the breakthrough to Klopp’s first team last year, the teenager was described as ‘really interesting’ by the manager.
He was then in and around the senior players for much of the season, including a star turn during last winter’s camp during the World Cup.
After a last-minute loan move was blocked during the summer, Clark looked set for a role this season. The Europa League would likely have seen him chalk up some minutes had he been fit.

Unfortunately, young Bobby just hasn’t been able to get ready enough to play. Once he’s back up to speed in January, perhaps a temporary switch would then be a good idea.
Until then, Clark is just going to have to focus on getting himself back. Like with Bradley and Stefan Bajcetic, Liverpool seemingly have high expectations for him and will surely give him a chance at some stage. Still not 19 until February, there’s no real rush for Bobby.
So, while 2023 might have been a year to forget for this young man, we’re sure that he’ll have better years to come. Hopefully at Liverpool.
