Liverpool are widely considered one of the best-selling clubs in Europe, with the Reds managing to bring in one signing for cheap before offloading them for profit.
It’s a practice that funded Jurgen Klopp’s Premier League and UEFA Champions League winnings sides, with Liverpool still currently sitting on some potential goldmines in the squad.
Indeed, Mohamed Salah could be the next player to repeat such an incredible feat amid ongoing links to Saudi Arabia, having rejected a £100m+ offer earlier year.
Yet who could the Reds potentially bring back? We look at three former players Liverpool might look at signing in 2024.
Dominic Solanke

Arguably the most famous example of Liverpool’s ability to cash in players for massive profits is Dominik Solanke, who joined the Reds as a free agent from Chelsea before being sold to AFC Bournemouth for almost £20m.
Having made just five starts in total for Liverpool, it was an outstanding piece of business from the Anfield side at the time. Yet since then, Solanke has developed quite well.
The 26-year-old attacker is enjoying his best year yet in the Premier League with Bournemouth having hit 11 goals in the top flight, and Liverpool could consider Solanke as an option to fit their ongoing striker issues.
Neco Williams

One of the more surprising sales from last year’s transfer window was that of Neco Williams, who at the time looked like a potential fullback superstar in the making.
However, Nottingham Forest’s reported £16m offer proved too good for Liverpool to reject, yet at 22-years-old and with the Reds now two left-backs down through injury, Williams could be considered.
Indeed, with the youngster also not a guaranteed starter at Forest, a return to Anfield might be appealing for Williams, especially if Klopp genuinely wants the defender back.
Xabi Alonso

We might be taking some liberties with this one given that Xabi Alonso is no longer player, but based on what the former Liverpool midfielder is doing at Bayer Leverkusen as a coach, it’s hard not to put the maestro on this list.
The former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich superstar has led the Bundesliga side to a record-breaking start in what is Alonso’s first full season as head coach of Leverkusen.
Whilst Klopp is unlikely to leave Liverpool, Alonso could be a dream appointment for the Reds, who according to reports is already being considered by the Merseyside giants.
