Saudi Pro League officials reportedly believe that the potential signing of Mohamed Salah would be bigger than last year’s arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Liverpool winger is arguably the most famous sportsman in the Arabic and Muslim world, with Salah one of the best players in the Premier League and a modern-day legend at Anfield.

Recently lauded as ‘crazy’ by Kostas Tsimikas, Salah was a target for Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad last summer, with the Reds rejecting an outrageous £100m+ offer for the winger.

And now, according to the Daily Mail, the Saudi Pro League will try again for Salah, with officials viewing the Liverpool star as a potentially bigger coup than Ronaldo.

Indeed, the former Manchester United striker surprised everyone by taking his talents to Saudi Arabia after his release from the club last winter, and since then, the league’s reputation has been skyrocketing.

This summer saw numerous top players make the move to the Middle East, and Salah could now be the next poster boy of the Saudi Pro League heading into 2024.

Salah was seemingly close to making the shock switch to Saudi Arabia in the summer when Al-Ittihad made a Premier League record bid for the attacker.

Although Liverpool survived the transfer scare, all signs currently point towards the 31-year-olf forward finally making the switch to the Middle East next summer.

And after this latest update, it appears that the Saudi Pro League will stop at nothing to sign Salah, with the Liverpool star one of the best players on the planet.

Moreover, the winger’s background and worldwide reputation will make Salah a superstar in Saudi Arabia, even potentially eclipsing the excitement brought in by Ronaldo earlier this year.
