Liverpool could reportedly sell Fabio Carvalho to RB Leipzig for good in the January transfer market.

The 21-year-old winger joined the Bundesliga club in the summer on a season-long loan deal, though Carvalho has hardly featured for Leipzig since signing earlier this year.

As a result, reports have emerged that Liverpool will recall Carvalho and look to send the former Fulham wonderkid out on loan to another club next month.

However, according to ESPN, Liverpool could seal a permanent deal with Leipzig for Carvalho, a deal that would be most surprising given how little the youngster has played for the German side this season.

Lauded by Jurgen Klopp as an ‘outstanding’ prospect, Carvalho is a youngster who reportedly still has a future at Liverpool despite his poor development in the last 18 months.

However, if Leipzig were to put in a good offer for the youngster, Liverpool could be tempted to sell given how much they need to add to their squad in the January transfer window.

Liverpool have proven over the years that they are the masters at extracting maximum value out of players, with the Reds one of the best-selling clubs in world football.

And the Anfield side could repeat this impressive streak with Carvalho in 2024, with Leipzig clearly big fans of the Portuguese youth international.

Indeed, Liverpool are yet to find a real role for Carvalho, with the Merseyside club seemingly looking ahead without the former Fulham star in mind.

And selling Carvalho could please all parties if Leipzig can put in a suitable offer, with Liverpool in need of some added finances in the January transfer window.
