Liverpool are already planning their recruitment strategy for years into the future.
With the transfer window almost upon us again, the Reds are already being linked with various moves. Following Joel Matip’s season-ending injury, the loudest of those rumours is now for a centre-back addition.
And according to French outlet Le10Sport, Liverpool have their eyes on one player in particular. For now and for the future.
After claiming that Jurgen Klopp is already plotting out the market for 2024 and 2025, they report that Lille defender Leny Yoro is now on the manager’s radar.
With the Reds also said to be in contract talks with Ibrahima Konate, they’re reportedly ‘dreaming’ of adding Yoro alongside him.
It won’t be easy to sign the 18-year-old, however. It’s claimed that both Manchester sides are already in talks with Lille over signing him. Nevertheless, in their drive to sign the ‘greatest prospects on the planet,’ Liverpool are reportedly ‘determined’ to land Yoro.
Liverpool looking at Yoro addition
If Liverpool are interested in bringing a new centre-back to the club, then Yoro would be an excellent shout.
The teenager has already made himself a key part of the Lille side aged just 18.
At a club notorious for bringing through top young talent, that’s a really good sign that he’s going to be something special.
Given his young age, you might think Liverpool would be minded to wait a little and see how Yoro develops. But youngsters like that don’t hang around for too long anymore.

The acknowledgement of talks with both City and United suggests that the France U21 star will soon be off the market.
With that in mind, Liverpool will have to be quick and be bold if they really want Yoro.
Previous reports have also put PSG in the picture for the youngster. If the French champions make a move, they’ll be hard to usurp.
You’d imagine that at some point over the next six months Liverpool are going to go big for a centre-back. Why not make it one of the potential next best in the world?
