Liverpool are reportedly more interested in signing Kylian Mbappe than Premier League rivals Arsenal, who could be an option for the PSG striker.

The France international’s future is once again in the headlines with Mbappe entering the final six months of his PSG contract heading into next summer’s transfer window.

Whilst Real Madrid remain the obvious favourites for the attacker’s signature, Liverpool’s interest has never faded, with the Reds still linked with a move for Mbappe.

And according to French football expert Jonathan Johnson via CaughtOffside, the Anfield side are currently more interested in signing Mbappe than Arsenal, who are believed to be interested in the forward.

Johnson said: “I think Arsenal are an attractive project now, and I think if an offer was there and Real Madrid took themselves out of the equation, then Mbappe would give it serious consideration.

“I think the interest from Liverpool, however, has been more long-standing and more serious, but at the same time Liverpool are also going through something of a transitional phase, so neither club look an obvious destination for Mbappe at this moment in time – only Real Madrid really fit the bill in that respect.”

Liverpool need a miracle if they’re to sign Kylian Mbappe

Praised as ‘world-class’ by Virgil van Dijk, Mbappe being linked to Liverpool is a story that now feels as old as football itself.

The France superstar has made it clear that he is a fan of the Reds and would likely make the move to the Premier League if Mbappe had a desire to swap Paris for England.

Yet as we all know, Madrid are calling for the striker, and it would take a miracle for Liverpool to win the race for Mbappe, even if they were to win the Premier League this season and cash in on a Mohamed Salah for serious profit.
