Liverpool are in constant contact with PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe as he ponders his next move.
Mbappe is set to be a free agent at the end of the season, having previously informed PSG of his willingness to leave.
Ever since it became clear that the 24-year-old was likely moving on, Liverpool have been linked. And as unfeasible as that may seem, today brings another report to that effect from French outlet L’Equipe.
They claim that the Reds have never actually broken off contact with Mbappe and his entourage since meeting with him back in 2017.
With the World Cup winner readying a move away from Monaco, Jurgen Klopp himself is said to have met with Mbappe onboard a private jet. In the end Kylian chose PSG, but Liverpool reportedly kept in touch with the player.
Now, with a move looking more and more likely, it’s claimed that Liverpool ‘believe in their chances’ of finally luring Mbappe to Anfield and are still speaking directly to him.
Liverpool links to Mbappe continue
Just like Jude Bellingham, until Mbappe makes his move he’s always going to be linked with Liverpool.
And like Bellingham, the smart money should be on the £166m man joining Real Madrid. Either that or he’s signing a new deal to stay in Paris.
Until we see Kylian in that red shirt, nothing anyone reports in the meantime will convince us otherwise.
It’s arguable that a move for Mbappe wouldn’t even make footballing sense for Liverpool right now. Even if Mohamed Salah does depart, they could really do with a left-footer to replace him.

There’s no question that Mbappe would do well in whatever position he played for the Reds, but there is an overload of left-sided right-footers.
Unless one of them leaves, there doesn’t seem all that much point in bringing the France international in.
That might sound mad, especially when Mbappe is potentially available on a free transfer. But if he’s bringing all his drama with him, then Liverpool need it to make complete footballing sense.
Klopp is obviously a big fan of Mbappe, why wouldn’t he be. But it feels like 2017 was the Reds’ chance to get him. Since then, the Frenchman has been destined for Madrid.
