Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland has included two Liverpool players in his EAFC Ultimate Team.
Haaland once again looks good to be the Premier League top scorer this season. With 14 goals in the division already, the Norwegian is the most lethal striker on the planet right now.
Despite playing for Liverpool’s rivals though, Haaland clearly recognises that there’s quality within Jurgen Klopp’s squad, too.
Posting on Instagram stories last night, the 23-year-old shared his EAFC Ultimate Team. Included in the side were Liverpool duo Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai.
“Sorry Ronaldo, have to drop you for my cousin Jonatan Brunes,” wrote the striker.
We’re not sure about that, but it’s nice to see one of the Premier League’s brightest stars giving credit to a couple of Reds.
Haaland backs Liverpool talent
It isn’t really a surprise to see Van Dijk and Szoboszlai included by Haaland here.
The Norway international has struggled against Virgil at times and has praised him as one of his toughest opponents.
Meanwhile, Haaland and Szoboszlai’s friendship goes back to their time together playing for RB Salzburg. Now apparently living as neighbours following the Hungarian’s summer move to Anfield, the two are seemingly close.
Regardless of that though, both players could make claims to be in any ‘ultimate team’ in world football at the moment.

As Klopp mentioned only yesterday, Van Dijk has retaken his place as the best defender on the planet this season.
The Dutchman has returned to something close to his imperious best for Liverpool in 2023/24. In all honestly, who would you rather have ahead of Virgil right now?
For Szoboszlai, he still has a way to go before making a claim to such lofty titles. But there’s no doubt that the 23-year-old has the potential to be one of the world’s very best midfielders.
Haaland clearly recognises that talent. Just imagine the three of them together for Liverpool. We can dream!
