La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed that a move to Real Madrid is a ‘destiny’ for Kylian Mbappe.
As things stand, Mbappe is set to be available as a free agent in summer 2024. His failure to so far extend his contract with PSG has led to plenty of speculation that the Frenchman could be on his way to Liverpool.
And yet, the smart money would still be on Mbappe ending up at Madrid. Speaking to Movistar Plus via The Mirror, Tebas echoed that sentiment.

Asked whether he was convinced that the forward would be wearing all white next season, the 61-year-old said he was ’70-80%’ sure.
“Convinced, convinced, no. But it is a destiny for him, for sure,” Tebas answered. “Next year it will be more than 70-80 per cent.”
Mbappe edges closer to Madrid
As ever with Mbappe, there’s plenty of twists to go before we see where he’s playing next season.
Initially, his refusal to sign on at PSG had looked like earning him a one-way ticket out of Paris in the summer. But having rebuffed an offer from Al Hilal, Kylian stayed put.
In the past, these breakdowns of relationship between Mbappe and his club have been repaired. After reintegrating him into the side, PSG boss Luis Enrique will hope for another instance of that. Until the World Cup winner signs on the dotted line though, there are no guarantees.

If Mbappe doesn’t commit his future to the French champions, then it would feel inevitable that he’ll be going to the Bernabeu. As Tebas alludes to, it has always felt likely that the £166m man would play for Madrid one day.
With no transfer fee to pay, it would appear to be the perfect time for that to happen.
And yet, Liverpool seemingly remain somewhat in the mix. The Reds have always been put forward as a potential destination for Mbappe, with the player himself said to be very keen indeed on the idea of an Anfield move.
So, with Liverpool hopefully back in the Champions League, perhaps they can just make that 20-30% of doubt count. We won’t hold our breath, but you never know.
