Al-Hilal have reportedly made a world-record transfer offer worth €300m (£259m) to sign Kylian Mbappe, who is rumoured to be wanted by Liverpool.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi Arabia giants have launched a world-record bid to bring the PSG superstar to the Middle East, with the French side transfer listing Mbappe last week amid growing transfer speculation.
Liverpool have been one of the sides linked with Mbappe as reported by AS, though Al-Hilal’s record-breaking £259m transfer offer is something no club in Europe will be able to match.
The current world-record for money spent on a single transfer still belongs to PSG’s 2017 move for Neymar, with the Parisian side splashing out an incredible £222m to bring the Brazilian international to France.
However, Al-Hilal’s bid blows this current world-record out of the water, and there’s now a small chance that Mbappe could make the shock decision of moving to Saudi Arabia despite interest from the likes of Liverpool.
Al-Hilal signing Mbappe would change football forever

Saudi Arabia’s influence in football is growing by the day based on moves some clubs have made this summer, yet there’s no denying that Al-Hilal signing Mbappe would change the sport forever, and arguably not for the best.
As we know, Mbappe is keen to join Real Madrid with a deal reportedly agreed with the Spanish giants to join in 2024. Yet a year in Al-Hilal could now be on the cards, a move that will transform football as we know it.
Indeed, money has been a growing influence in the beautiful game, and Mbappe making the move to Saudi Arabia would all-but conform that football is now a sport that can be bought, with no superstar safe from their clutches.
