Jurgen Klopp is planning on speaking with Moises Caicedo this morning ahead of his proposed move to Liverpool.

The Reds stunned the world of football last night by hijacking Chelsea’s bid to sign Caicedo from Brighton. After agreeing a British record £110m for the Ecuadorian, Liverpool have reportedly booked a medical for him today.

Before that, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports on Twitter that the Reds manager will speak with Caicedo for the first time.

“2.29am UK time and Liverpool are now preparing all the documents of Moises Caicedo deal to be fast and then avoid surprises later today — LFC want to sign ASAP,” Romano wrote in the early hours of this morning.

“Liverpool also booking medical today while Jurgen Klopp plans to speak to Moises as final steps of the deal.”

Expanding on his tweet from the middle of the night, Romano also had another quick Twitter update for Liverpool fans this morning.

“Before press conference scheduled at 10am UK time, Jurgen Klopp plans to speak to Moises Caicedo,” he said. “Medical already booked.”

With Caicedo reportedly having previously been sold on joining Chelsea, this will be a big conversation for the Liverpool manager.

Obviously, it shouldn’t be a problem, but it’s vital that Jurgen gets his potential record arrival fully on-board.

Thankfully, the Reds boss is one of the best around at selling his plan and vision to new players. The German’s natural warmth is hopefully something that comes across to Moises after what has been a difficult summer for him.

Interestingly, as Romano points out, it won’t be long until we get to hear Klopp’s thoughts on the matter. Although there’s a big game to focus on this weekend – ironically against Chelsea – talk of Caicedo will no doubt dominate his morning press conference.

After that, we’ll get a clearer picture of whether or not to expect any complications here. It would be a surprise if there were any. Once Jurgen gets in your ear, why would you want to be anywhere else?
