Lauded by Chris Sutton as an ‘unbelievable’ player, Caicedo was one of the best midfielders in the Premier League last season as Brighton qualified for Europe for the first time in their history.
And Liverpool have been linked with the midfielder for some time, though due to Brighton’s £100m asking price, the Reds never looked like real contenders for the Ecuador star’s signature.
