Torino manager Ivan Juric has now addressed the future of Perr Schuurs at the Serie A side amid Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp showing real interest in the defender’s transfer.
Reports by Toro.it this week noted that Klopp dreams of signing Schuurs to play beside Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool. The Reds boss is keen to strengthen his defence this summer and sees the Torino enforcer as a worthy target. But all talks between the two clubs have now frozen.
Torino have put a major hurdle in Liverpool and rival suitor Crystal Palace’s path for Schuurs’ transfer. Neither side has so far shown any willingness to meet Il Toro’s €40m (£34m) asking price. But Torino chairman Urbano Cairo will not let the 23-year-old leave for anything less.

Liverpool and Crystal Palace target Perr Schuurs’ transfer
Crystal Palace and Liverpool remain keen to secure Schuurs’ transfer from Torino should the right deal become attainable. The Premier League teams have also already tabled offers for the Nieuwstadt native. Tuttosport even reports that Schuurs is willing to join Crystal Palace.
Schuurs would favour a move to Liverpool if Torino sanctions the transfer. But he has agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace in case his future is at Selhurst Park. The Eagles offered Il Toro €35m (£30m) for his services earlier in July, per Tuttosport, to eclipse Liverpool’s offer.

Further reports by Tuttosport at the start of July claimed that Liverpool offered Torino €30m (£26m) for Schuurs’ transfer. But Cairo immediately rejected the Reds’ approach, along with an enquiry by SSC Napoli. He is unrelenting in demanding €40m (£34m) for Schuurs to go.

What has Torino boss Ivan Juric said about Perr Schuurs’ future?
Torino boss Juric has now called Schuurs ‘phenomenal’ during a press conference on Friday, as well. He also addressed his and teammate Samuele Ricci’s futures at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Juric is determined to prevent transfers for Ricci or Liverpool target Schuurs.
“If there are transfers, we need to be ready,” Juric stated, via quotes by Toro.it. “I would be very sorry if Ricci and Schuurs left. In my opinion this is not the time, they are still growing. My idea is to keep everyone, bring back those from last year and then try to improve.”
