Liverpool are happy to let academy forward Mateusz Musialowski leave the club this summer.

Musialowksi has been seen as a big talent in the academy ever since his arrival from Poland in 2020. His eye-catching displays have led to Reds fans deeming the 19-year-old to be a ‘special’ prospect.

However, his occasional brilliance in the lower age groups has so far failed to translate into a first team debut. As a result, the Liverpool Echo report that Musialowski now finds himself at a crossroads.

There had been reports that the Polish youngster was in talks with two teams from his home country. The Echo dismiss this though, claiming there have been no official offers for Musialowski as of yet.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be, though. And Liverpool are said to be entirely ‘open’ to the idea of letting the teenager leave, either on-loan or permanently.

As the years tick by, it becomes increasingly unlikely that Musialowski will ever be a first team regular at Liverpool.

When he was brought to the club, he quickly had the look of someone who could make that step up. But for whatever reason, Jurgen Klopp has never been convinced by the Poland U21 international.

Despite that, you’d imagine that Liverpool would still be looking for a relatively decent fee to sell Musialowski. In youth terms, anyway.

If one isn’t forthcoming, then a loan would make a lot of sense. There seems little logic in leaving him in the underage teams at this point, he needs to show what he’s made of in senior football.

Should he go out and do well, maybe there’s still a crack of a chance open at Anfield. He doesn’t turn 20 until October and is obviously a talented boy.

But if he heads out and can’t quite cope, then it’ll make Liverpool’s decision for them.

As a result, it really is a big summer for Musialowski. He has to make sure that if he does leave the Reds, it’s for the right opportunity. If he’s not careful, a promising career could start to slip from his grasp.
