Liverpool are actively looking into the prospect of signing Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucoure.
Doucoure has emerged as an option for the Reds as they ramp up their search to replace their soon-to-be former midfielder Fabinho.
And according to journalist Neil Jones via The Redmen TV, the 23-year-old is a ‘live’ target for Liverpool.

“[Liverpool are] doing some checks on him, he is definitely a name Liverpool are looking at, he’s in the mix,” says Jones.
“Definitely one to keep an eye on, Doucoure. An interesting name, not one I expected to pop up, but it’s definitely a live name.”
Not one we were expecting either, truth be told. But he looks like he could well fit the bill.
Liverpool assessing Doucoure arrival
Liverpool’s mission to revamp their whole midfield this summer is still far from being finished.
With the season now just three weeks from beginning, they need to start getting their house in order. There’s no time to lose. Unfortunately, we can’t see it ending any time soon, though.
Palace, for example, are reportedly looking to recoup ‘at least’ £65m if they sell Doucoure [90min]. At those kinds of prices, you can’t see Liverpool pulling the trigger especially quickly. But as deadline day draws closer, they may be left with no choice.

Once Fabinho and Jordan Henderson complete their inevitable departures, the whole world and his dog will know that the Reds are a little desperate.
As a result, each and every midfielder on the market will then have two prices: one for the rest of the football world, and one for Liverpool.
Consequently, any ‘live’ names such as Doucoure need to be evaluated as quickly as possible. Every day that passes adds another few hundred thousand to their valuations.
Doucoure probably wouldn’t have been anyone’s first choice for Liverpool at the start of the window. If he ticks the recruitment team’s boxes and he’s get-able though, he may be the best option we have left.
