Liverpool are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace midfielder Cheick Doucoure, who could replace Fabinho once the Brazilian completes his move to Saudi Arabia.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Reds are now eyeing the 23-year-old after a fantastic debut year in the Premier League with Palace, one that saw Doucoure win the club’s Player of the Season award after becoming a key clog in the midfield.
As a result, Liverpool are now interested in the Mali international, with Doucoure’s profile suggesting that the youngster could be signed by Jurgen Klopp to replace Fabinho, who is due to officially join Al-Ittihad this week in a deal worth £40m.

With Doucoure only spending one year in south London, luring the midfielder from Roy Hodgson’s clutches might prove financially challenging for Liverpool. Yet given how much the likes of Moises Caicedo and Joao Palhinha could cost, the 23-year-old might be worth the gamble.
Indeed, Doucoure impressed greatly for Palace last season, and at Liverpool alongside better players, the midfielder could take his game to a whole new level, where European football will also be on offer for the former RC Lens superstar.
Doucoure could be worth the gamble from Liverpool

Doucoure might have only spent one year in England, but there was a lot to like from the midfielder’s performances for Palace. And for Liverpool, the 23-year-old could be worth the punt as a replacement for Fabinho this summer.
Whilst the finances might be an issue for the Reds, there’s no denying that a deal is there to be done if Liverpool are willing enough to go all out for Doucoure, who in turn could be extremely open to joining the Reds if the interest becomes concrete enough in the coming days.
