Bayern Munich have decided that reported Liverpool target Joshua Kimmich is ‘no longer unsellable.’
Kimmich has surprisingly been linked with a move to Anfield this summer, as Liverpool refresh their midfield. But with the 28-year-old one of Bayern’s most high-profile players, it always seemed unlikely to happen.
Now though, journalist Georg Holzner has suggested that it could be more possible than initially thought. Taking to Twitter today, Holzner claimed that the German champions could be tempted to sell Kimmich.

“According to Kicker information, in addition to Leon Goretzka Joshua Kimmich should no longer be untouchable and no longer unsellable at FC Bayern,” wrote the journalist.
“Should a high offer for Kimmich arrive in Munich, the Bayern bosses would at least be willing to talk.”
Bayern ready to sell Kimmich
Holzner’s tweet is also backed up with a report in Kicker this afternoon. There, it’s claimed that Kimmich’s status at Bayern is ‘crumbling.’ The club are reportedly not convinced that he’s a natural in the ‘6’ position he’s been playing.
Ironically, that could actually be the key to whether Liverpool would consider an approach for the German.
With Fabinho’s transfer to Al Ittihad looming, the Reds could soon be crying out for a natural defensive midfielder. As of yet, they don’t have an obvious, high-level back-up for the Brazilian in the squad.

Some may see Kimmich as being that, but it seems that even his own club currently don’t.
Any transfer would surely be for a pretty mind-boggling fee, too. The former RB Leipzig man still has two years to run on his contract and would surely cost more than the £53m he’s been rumoured to be on the market for.
Nevertheless, his arrival would make some sense. Liverpool could bet on youth to replace Fabinho, but bringing in someone like Kimmich would be an instant sign that they’re not messing around.
With young legs around them, he and former Bayern teammate Thiago Alcantara could be the old heads of the midfield pack. That does have a nice ring to it. Still, we’re not expecting this to happen.
