Liverpool defender Nat Phillips will be back at the AXA Training Centre for the first day of pre-season tomorrow.
The Reds finally return after a six-week absence tomorrow, with liverpoolfc.com revealing the list of names set to be present.
As expected, it’s a relatively small group. Players who were called up for international duty at the end of last season are given the weekend off, with the majority slated to arrive on Tuesday instead.

This will unfortunately include new signings Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who we’ll have to wait a little longer to see. Nevertheless, there’s still some intrigue for Liverpool fans.
Phillips is expected to report for duty despite claims he’s attracting interest from Leeds United and Feyenoord. Thiago Alcantara is another with question marks over his future who will be back tomorrow. After a lengthy spell out injured, it’ll be great to see the 32-year-old back.
Another returning from injury is Stefan Bajcetic. Meanwhile, Adrian, Fabinho, Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Darwin Nunez will all be there, too.
Phillips prepares for another pre-season
You wouldn’t be surprised if Phillips wakes up tomorrow morning with ‘I Got You Babe’ blaring from his radio. It must feel like Groundhog Day for the Reds centre-back.
Despite yet more concrete links for an Anfield exit, the 26-year-old remains at the club. All set for another pre-season.
Of course, Phillips shouldn’t mind too much, he’s still training every day amongst elite footballers in world-class facilities.

But at this point of his career, he must be getting mightily frustrated.
The Athletic have claimed that Liverpool are looking for around £10m to sell Phillips this summer. For a player who hasn’t played an awful lot in a long while, that seems a little steep.
If the Reds aren’t careful, they’re going to price the former Bolton man out of another move and have him loitering around for another year.
It’s in everybody’s best interests that that isn’t allowed to happen. Phillips will keep turning up and doing his job until he’s told otherwise – he’s not the type to kick up a fuss. That’s exactly one of the reasons Liverpool should be desperately trying to do right by him this summer. Good to see you back, Nat, but hopefully not for too long.
