Feyenoord are reportedly interested in Nat Phillips, with Liverpool open to selling the defender this summer.

According to the Athletic, the Dutch champions are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old centre-back as Feyenoord look to bolster out their squad ahead of the new season, with Arne Slot’s side keen to sign new players for their return to the UEFA Champions League.

As per the report, Liverpool value Phillips at £10m as the Reds look to finally move on the defender for good this summer, with the centre-back also wanted by Leeds United. However, Feyenoord are, of course, the more appealing option for the Anfield player.

Champions League football as well as playing in the Dutch top-flight could be extremely appealing to Phillips, who has already sampled playing away from England having spent a season out on loan in Germany with VfB Stuttgart.

Moreover, with Holland becoming a growing destination for English players, with Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite thriving at PSV on loan last season, Phillips could be well-suited to Feyenoord, with Rotterdam also a city that shares the same working-class mentality as Liverpool.

Despite limited appearances last season, Phillips always delivered when given the chance at Liverpool. And a move to a title-winning side in Feyenoord could be a dream transfer for the defender, with Champions League football another incredible incentive.

Indeed, Phillips deserves a shot to become a regular at one of Europe’s biggest sides. And Feyenoord can provide just that if the Dutch giants launch a bid to sign the Liverpool centre-back, who could thrive in the Eredivisie with the Rotterdamers.
