Thiago Alcantara has reportedly rejected an offer to leave Liverpool this summer, with the midfielder subject to interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
According to the Athletic, the Spanish international has turned down an approach from an unnamed Saudi side to make a move to the Middle East, a switch that numerous high-profile names have made this window, namely Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante.
As per the report, Thiago intends to stay at Liverpool until his contract expires next summer. However, the Reds are believed to be open to the idea of selling the 32-year-old if a suitable offer is made for the midfielder in the coming weeks.

With Liverpool signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai this window and another midfielder expected to join, selling Thiago to free up space in the squad and on the payroll could be a wise decision for all parties. However, the former Bayern Munich star’s exit has to be a move the player actually wants.
Indeed, Thiago seems intent on remaining in Europe if he is to leave Liverpool. And with a Saudi side the only club to make an offer for the midfielder this summer, it could take some time before a suitable bid is made for the FC Barcelona academy graduate.
Liverpool will have to hope European interest sparks in Thiago soon

Thiago’s injury issues mean that the midfielder is approaching the end of his top-flight career. Yet with the Spaniard seemingly intent on remaining in Europe, Liverpool will have to hope a big club enters the fray before the window ends to sign the 32-year-old.
As we know, Liverpool are already planning for life after Thiago with the signings of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai. And if the Reds can offload the midfielder this summer, such a transfer could be a huge win for the Anfield side heading into the new season.
