Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has posted an emotional farewell to Liverpool, after six years at the club.
The 29-year-old is set to leave on a free transfer having ran down his contract at Anfield. Having already received a hero’s goodbye at Anfield last month, Oxlade-Chamberlain took to Instagram yesterday to share a two-minute video message to Liverpool fans.
Including clips of his time and goals during his years at Anfield, Ox dubbed a genuine and heartfelt voice-over thanking Reds supporters. A nice touch from a classy individual.

As well as receiving hundreds of messages of support from Liverpool fans, there were also one or two of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s teammates in the comments.
Trent Alexander-Arnold posted a ‘hands making heart’ emoji. Meanwhile Jordan Henderson gave a simple ‘Thank you’ alongside a couple of his own hearts. That’s that then, thanks for everything, Ox.
Ox says final goodbye to Liverpool
Oxlade-Chamberlain may not have always been the first name on the teamsheet during his time at Liverpool, but he will still be missed.
At times, the part he played in the Reds’ trophy wins has been underestimated. But barring the Champions League triumph in 2019, all the gongs Liverpool have collected wouldn’t have been possible without the former Arsenal man.
He deserves recognition for being a big part of one of the best Reds teams there has ever been.

Beyond that though, he’s clearly a very popular member of the dressing room. Always front and centre of any celebrations, Ox has always come across as a genuinely warm character.
As we know, Jurgen Klopp places great importance on that, and it isn’t easy to replace.
Henderson recently said that whoever gets Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer will be ‘winning the lottery.’ We perhaps wouldn’t go quite that far, but he’ll definitely add plenty to wherever he ends up.
As July approaches, that still remains to be seen. Aston Villa had been rumoured to be in for Ox, but nothing has yet come of that. Wherever he goes though, he’ll always get a warm welcome back at Anfield.
