Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell has hailed the technical quality of Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott.
Cresswell and Elliott are both in the England U21 squad as they aim to try and win the Euros this summer. And looking ahead to the tournament for englandfootball.com, the Leeds centre-back gave an introduction to each of his teammates. Landing on Elliott, Creswell praised how ‘techie’ Liverpool’s No.19 is.
“Harvey’s quiet to be fair, but he’s so techie on the pitch,” raved the 20-year-old. “I think his ability shows for itself. But yeah, he’s a real good talent.”

There is another Red within the England squad, too. And summarising Curtis Jones, Creswell was equally as effusive.
“Curtis is so gifted technically and we’re hoping he can provide that little bit of extra we need in the EUROs,” he said.
With so much talent packed in their ranks, England are sure to be one of the favourites to lift the trophy. The Young Lions kick off with a game against Czech Republic this evening.
Plenty of Liverpool interest at Euro U21
Usually, an international U21 tournament wouldn’t hold too much interest for Liverpool fans. We don’t tend to have a great many players involved in them, and that actually remains the case this time around.
Elliott and Jones are the only two of Jurgen Klopp’s squad to be featuring in Romania and Georgia. Both should be set for big roles, but they’re perhaps not the biggest draw for supporters.
However, there will be plenty of other reasons for Liverpool fans to watch this year’s tournament.

They have as many as five potential transfer targets playing for their countries. Ryan Gravenberch and Micky van de Ven for the Netherlands, Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone for France and Gabri Veiga of Spain.
Veiga, Gravenberch and Van de Ven all played last night, with none of the trio particularly standing out. Today will see the other two feature, with the most interest probably reserved for Thuram.
In amongst all of that, Liverpool supporters may forget to keep an eye on the two very gifted young players already on their books.
As he underlines his determination to compete with the new signings at Anfield, Elliott in particular will be trying his best to be impossible to ignore.
