OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram is reportedly likely to be Liverpool’s next midfield signing, with the Reds keeping tabs on the 22-year-old.
According to journalist Neil Jones, the Anfield side are big fans of the French youth international, with Thuram now the most likely player Liverpool will sign next in the transfer window having announced the capture of Alexis Mac Allister at the start of June.
Valued at £50m, Thuram will represent France this week at the U-21 Euros, where recent reports suggest that Liverpool will move for the Ligue 1 talent once the competition is over next month. And this latest update seems to confirm Jurgen Klopp’s intentions.

Indeed, Thuram is one of the most in-demand names in Europe. Yet Liverpool appear confident in striking a deal for the midfielder. Jones said: “From my understanding, Thuram is the likeliest. The profile of him, his physique, his age, and the club he’s playing at, the kind of money that would be involved. I think he perfectly fits the bill.
“It remains to be seen how willing Nice are to let him go, and I think the fact that there looks like a number of midfield players likely to move soon in this market means that Nice might just be waiting to see how the dominos fall, and what kind of price they can get for him.”
Liverpool should be looking to sign Thuram as early as possible

Thuram is now clearly Liverpool’s next target to add to Mac Allister this summer, and whilst getting talks underway after the U-21 Euros is a smart step, the Reds could be wise to begin negotiations much early in order to confirm the 22-year-old’s signature.
As we know, Thuram could attract more suitors in the coming weeks based on what he does for France out in Georgia and Romania. And for Liverpool, beating everyone to the punch could be the best way to secure what might be one of the best signings the club make this summer.
