Liverpool are already planning their next move in the transfer market after completing the signing of Alexis Mac Allister.
Mac Allister was finally announced as a Liverpool player this morning, ending months of speculation. Throughout the Argentine’s transfer saga, journalist Fabrizio Romano was the man keeping Reds fans in the know.
With Mac Allister now done and dusted, the journalist has taken to Twitter today to update supporters on their club’s next move. And it’s an exciting one.

“Liverpool have scheduled round of talks with Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram agents,” Romano reports. “No bid submitted yet but both players remain on the list.
“Reds will plan for next signing in the midfield after Mac Allister deal now finally completed.”
Liverpool not finished in the market
By now, it’s hardly a state secret that Liverpool are targeting the £53m rated Thuram and his mate Kone. Nevertheless, it’s good to hear that even after signing Alexis, the Reds’ remain hungry in their approach to this year’s window.
They know that multiple signings are needed. That’s been clear for a while.
To some, this might seem obvious. But in windows gone by, Liverpool have often started well, but left themselves too much to do.

Take last summer, or even this winter. It was June 14th when they announced the signing of Darwin Nunez in 2022. From that point, there was still an expectation that they’d bring in a quality midfielder or two. In the end, the only other business they did was Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay, with Arthur Melo brought in as deadline-day panic buy.
To a lesser extent, this year’s January window was similar. Having announced Cody Gakpo before the market even opened, plenty of Liverpool fans were still hoping for a midfielder to be brought in too. Again, it didn’t happen.
So, although Mac Allister is a tremendous piece of business, you can forgive Reds fans for being a little wary. This latest update should help to dispel any of those lingering doubts.
