Reported Liverpool target Sofyan Amrabat has claimed that he’d be perfectly suited to Premier League football.
Amrabat was heavily linked with a move to Anfield after a stellar performance at last year’s World Cup. Ultimately, he ended up staying put. But with another transfer window now upon us, he looks set to be on the market once again.
As recently as April there have been reports that the Fiorentina man is on Liverpool’s short-list for the summer. And in quotes from The Daily Mail ahead of his team’s Europa Conference League final tonight, Amrabat has suggested that he’d be open to the move.

“Of course, the Premier League is a fantastic league, one of the strongest in the world,” said the 26-year-old. “It would be nice to play there one day, but it’s not that I want only to go to England, because Spain is nice, Serie A is a nice league.
“Football has changed a lot, it’s more physical, you have more to be an athlete, the tempo and intensity is higher. Of course, in England the intensity is very high, so I think it could suit me.”
Amrabat relishing Premier League possibility
Over the last six months, hype around Amrabat has – understandably – died down. There was a point during the January transfer window when it genuinely looked like Liverpool might buy him though, and the reported £40m price-tag doesn’t look terrible.
Having fallen off the radar somewhat, the Moroccan has a big chance to put himself right back on it this evening. Put in a dominating performance in a European final against West Ham United tonight, and he’ll re-announce himself ahead of the summer.
Clearly, Liverpool won’t be swayed either way by one display, no matter the stage. The chances are that they’ve already decided whether or not Amrabat is a serious target.

But he has the chance to reaffirm exactly why the Reds were linked with him in the first place.
As he himself mentions, he’s a physical player. Sometimes overly so. With Liverpool potentially in need of a new midfield enforcer, Amrabat’s profile would fit the bill.
There are some legitimate questions over his quality with the ball at his feet. But in terms of sheer ball-winning attributes, there perhaps aren’t many better.
Despite that, at this point, we don’t think it’s likely that he ends up with Liverpool. There’s still a big prospect of him showing his qualities elsewhere in the Premier League, though. He sounds like he’s relishing that possibility.
