Liverpool are preparing to make an offer to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Gravenberch in the lead-up to the summer transfer window. And with the end of the season now fast approaching, Tuttomercatoweb report that Liverpool are preparing to move forward with their interest.
They claim that having already ‘made a proposal’ to the 20-year-old, the Reds will now offer Bayern £43.3m to sign him.

This would more than double the money paid for him just last year. However, the German champions reportedly don’t have a figure in mind for Gravenberch. Put simply, they are said to have made it known that the Dutchman is not for sale.
This reportedly may not matter to Gravenberch, though. The Netherlands international is claimed to be ‘unhappy’ with the powers that be at Bayern. As a result, he is supposedly willing to force through a move in the next few months. Along with Liverpool, Newcastle United are also said to have made an offer to Gravenberch, while there is ‘concrete interest’ from Manchester United.
Liverpool face Gravenberch battle
At one stage several weeks ago, Gravenberch had looked odds-on to be at Liverpool next summer. Despite Bayern’s ‘not for sale’ stance, the Reds were reportedly determined to get their man.
However, as the weeks have gone by, it’s become clear that the Munich side are equally as determined to rebuff any and all interest. They have no intention of letting a player with such high potential go.

As Liverpool look to re-tool for next season, Jurgen Klopp wants signings done as soon as possible. The manager reportedly wants to know his squad for next season as early as July 8th – the day the Reds reconvene for pre-season.
Consequently, they need to target players who can be gotten out of their clubs quite easily. Other targets like Alexis Mac Allister and Mason Mount for example appear to have relatively straight forward situations. Gravenberch does not.
If Liverpool choose to pursue the former Ajax man, it’s clear that they’ll meet resistance from his club. In that case, it could take weeks – or even months – of negotiating. As with any transfer, there’s a chance that that could end up ultimately going nowhere.
Given the improvements they need to make, Liverpool can’t afford to let that happen. As good-a signing as Gravenberch could be, they have to get bodies through the door. And they have to do it quick. £43m seems a fair enough offer for now though. Maybe Bayern’s stance could yet soften.
