Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez’s miss against Brentford drew some interesting reactions from his teammates on Saturday.
The Daily Mail has now documented how Liverpool’s staff and players reacted as if Nunez had missed a decisive penalty, when he failed to convert after a brilliant cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Nunez was just a few yards out and in acres of space when Alexander-Arnold’s cross appeared to drop perfectly on to his foot.
However, the striker snatched at the opportunity, skewing the ball wide of the mark.
With Nunez under increasing pressure to start finding the back of the net at Anfield, it was clear that his Liverpool teammates were gutted for the Uruguayan when the ball trickled wide.
Curtis Jones reaction

Curtis Jones is said to have fallen to the floor with his head in his hands, while similar reactions were garnered from Ibrahima Konate and even Jurgen Klopp.
It is understandable why the Liverpool teammate were so crestfallen to see Nunez miss.
But, in time, there is a feeling that this sympathy may start to turn to frustration.
While Nunez has shown plenty of promise in his first season at Anfield, he is yet to live up to his exorbitant price-tag.
Of course, the fee Liverpool paid for Nunez is no fault of his own, but it does add to the pressure on him to start scoring more frequently.
For all his pace, power and effort, the 23-year-old must find a way to show more composure in front of goal.
All too often Nunez has missed glorious chances this season and that is something which cannot continue.
If Liverpool want to become title contenders once again they are going to need to be ruthless in front of goal.
And with the quality of Liverpool’s others attackers, if Nunez is to become the main man up-top, as was hoped when he arrived, he is going to have to prove more trustworthy when presented with opportunities next year.
