Fabio Carvalho has claimed that the atmosphere Liverpool fans create around the city is ‘unique.’
Carvalho arrived on Merseyside last summer, moving up from London. It was another big change for a young man who left Portugal for England aged 11. But speaking to HypeBeast, the 20-year-old suggested that he’s settled in perfectly up North.
“I don’t actually live in Liverpool, I live just outside in an area I can get outside into the outdoors and walk my dog. But every time I step out in the city I feel nothing but love from the fans,” he said. “The atmosphere of the city is always special, there’s something about it that feels unique compared to anywhere else I’ve been.

“The fans have been incredible. Whether it’s been showing support online or in person, they’ve always made me feel so welcome and been supporting me from the start of my time here. Seeing that energy at Anfield has been next level, too.”
On the pitch things may not have quite gone to plan for Carvalho this season. But it’s nice to hear that he’s at least found his feet off it.
Carvalho set for loan move
Carvalho has been in the news a fair bit of late. Reports have emerged over the last week or so that the former Fulham forward will in fact be moved on at the end of the season.
Thankfully, it looks like Liverpool aren’t set to give up on his immense potential just yet though, a loan looks like the most likely scenario.
Still, it’s disappointing for a player who has huge ambition. Carvalho has previously stated that he has designs on winning the Ballon d’Or in the future. For that to be anything like a possibility, he needs to start kicking on.

For now, it feels like that will have to be away from Liverpool. It seems a shame to uproot the young man once again, but perhaps a solution can be found that means he’s able to stay in his relatively new surroundings on Merseyside.
At the moment, the only tangible suggestions for any loan move have been a return to Portugal with Porto. Although this would be attractive in football terms, it may be best to keep him settling into the rigours of the Premier League.
Either way, it sounds like Liverpool has already wormed its way into Carvalho’s heart. Let’s hope he still has a long-term future here.
