Denmark international Jesper Lindstrom is virtually certain to leave Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, with Liverpool interested in signing him.
That’s according to Dainsh outlet Ekstra Bladet, who claim that a ‘huge poker’ for the midfielder is about to begin. As well as Liverpool, Lindstrom is said to be courting the interest of nine other English and European sides. Of which seven are said to be serious contenders.
With so much interest in the 23-year-old, it’s claimed that there’s ‘no doubt’ he’ll be sold by Eintracht. For that to happen, the German side will reportedly ask for at least £31-35m, with a top-end of £48m should there be ‘massive competition’ for Lindstrom’s signature.

From a Liverpool point view, it’s claimed that the silky midfielder is a ‘big fan’ of the Reds. In turn, Liverpool are said to have ‘put the feelers out’ on his potential signing.
However, the January signing of Cody Gakpo could reportedly have put a spanner in the works. With plenty of forward options already at his disposal, there’s some doubt over whether Liverpool have room for Lindstrom.
Liverpool making Lindstrom plan
It’s a little tricky to see just where Lindstrom would fit in at Liverpool. He’s one of those players who can really play in a variety of different positions.
The interest from the Reds does seem genuine, though, and they don’t usually make signings without a clear plan on how exactly to use them. So, presuming that Liverpool know what they’re doing, they could do a lot worse than Lindstrom.

Funnily, the same questions were also asked about the signing of Gakpo in January. With other options already at the club, the wisdom of bringing in another, similar player was queried.
While he may not have yet silenced all of the doubters, the 23-year-old has now won over a big proportion of fans. Playing through the middle of a front-three, Gakpo has carved out his own niche role in the Liverpool side.
Adding another more forward-thinking player could distort that again, but Klopp and Pep Lijnders will have their plan.
So, we’re all for adding another brilliantly technical, quick player to the squad. As long as a Lindstrom type signing doesn’t hinder Liverpool’s pursuit of more sturdy-looking midfield options, we don’t see why not. Plus, the Dane is said to be a big Red, too. Get him on board.
