Reported Liverpool transfer target Mohammed Kudus is likely to be available for around £40m this summer.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the Ajax man, with The Athletic reiterating as much this morning. Detailing the rise of Kudus this season, they claim that he is likely to move on at the end of the season.
To that end, ‘recruitment circles’ reportedly expect Ajax to look for a fee in and around the £40m mark. With two years now left on the 22-year-old’s contract, this summer is said to be the last time the Dutch side could reasonably expect such a high fee.
Kudus firmly on Klopp’s radar
Around the time of the World Cup, Kudus’ potential move to Liverpool really started to gain some traction. The Reds were said to be heavily scouting him during the tournament, where he starred for Ghana.
Since then, the trail has gone a little bit cold. Kudus on the other hand, has been running extremely hot. Bagging eight goals and three assists in his last 15 games, the former Nordsjaelland forward has underlined his potential.

Liverpool fans may likely already be aware of just how good the Ghanaian can be. Back in September, Kudus showed the watching Kop just what he can do.
Few will forget the way he lashed a left-footed finish past Alisson Becker in this season’s Champions League game at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp went out of his way to praise Kudus’ finish at the end of the match – labelling it as ‘incredible.‘
Once a player finds his way onto Jurgen’s radar in such a way he doesn’t tend to forget them. As a result, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see Kudus end up at Liverpool ahead of next season.
£40m is certainly within the Reds reach, and by the sounds of it they could perhaps even get him for slightly less. As a hybrid attacking midfielder who’s also comfortable in a deeper role, Kudus could be exactly what Liverpool need right now. Watch this space.
