Borussia Mönchengladbach have lowered their asking price for talented midfielder Manu Kone, after claims Liverpool want to sign him.
That’s according to Sport Bild (via Get Football News Germany), who claim the Bundesliga giants have dropped their £39m valuation of the Frenchman to just £26.6m.
Although the 21-year-old is under contract until 2025, Gladbach are in need of a rebuild – so they could sell him in the summer to generate funds.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that the Reds, Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are all trying to land Kone this year, with Sport Bild also touting the Merseyside outfit with interest.
Gladbach lower asking price for Liverpool target Kone
Liverpool have been linked with various midfielders in the past few months, but there aren’t many more exciting talents out there than Kone.
The 21-year-old has played 21 out of 22 Bundesliga matches this season – all of which have come from the starting XI.
As per WhoScored’s statistics, the midfielder leads Gladbach for tackles and dribbles made per game, with his ability to excel both offensively and defensively.
With such incredible potential, the Reds will struggle to find a better player available for £27m.
Kone could thus be a bargain option to bring in alongside Jude Bellingham, who is likely to cost around £130m.
This is a player Liverpool seriously shouldn’t miss out on.
