Liverpool now face more competition in the race to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone, according to BILD.
As per the report, RB Leipzig have entered the race to land the 21-year-old, as they view him as a potential replacement for Konrad Laimer – who is set to join Bayern Munich.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Liverpool, Bayern, Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain are all trying to sign the Frenchman, with the expectation that he could leave Gladbach this year.
According to a previous report by BILD, the German club have placed a £39m asking price on the youngster.
Liverpool face competition for Kone
Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a myriad of midfielders this month, as the Reds are in desperate need of additions in the middle of the park.
Besides Thiago Alcantara, none of Liverpool’s players have really shown that they are worth keeping in the starting XI each week.
Therefore, both defensive and central midfielders have been touted, and now it seems Kone has been identified as a suitable addition.

Statistically comparing with Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, the 21-year-old Frenchman would be a much cheaper option to bring in.
Furthermore, according to scouting website Breaking the Lines, it could be argued that Kone would be a better signing than Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong, as he would provide a similar profile for considerably less money.
Liverpool never seem to have the huge funds to bring in world-class talent, so a promising youngster who could progress, like Kone, could be an ideal target for FSG.
