Luis Diaz and Jordan Henderson send word-less messages to Liverpool ace Darwin Nunez after Newcastle win yesterday

Liverpool stars Luis Diaz and Jordan Henderson have sent messages to Darwin Nunez on Instagram, after a fantastic performance from the attacker against Newcastle United.

Nunez opened the scoring after just ten minutes as he powerfully finished from close-range after latching onto a terrific pass from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The 23-year-old looked like an absolute menace on the left, causing the Magpies’ defence all sorts of problems.

After the Reds’ 2-0 victory, the Uruguayan took to Instagram to share a reel of photos from the match.

Heavily celebrating in the majority of them, Nunez captioned the post: “Victory and back to the goal,” before writing, “Come on Liverpool!”

Taking to the comments, numerous Merseyside stars sent messages of praise to their teammate, hailing him after a difficult run in front of goal.

Most notably, Diaz sent a raised hands emoji to symbolise huge plaudits, followed by a flame emoji.

Henderson sent the latter, obviously impressed by the striker’s performance against the Toon.

Nunez back firing on goal

Nunez has all the qualities needed to make a world-class attacker.

He is insanely quick, with a stunning top speed and rapid acceleration. On top of this, he is incredibly strong and is a big physical presence. This makes him hard to win the ball off, in addition to being able to mark him.

The Uruguay international causes havoc amongst opposition defences, thus opening up opportunities for his teammates to go through on goal.

However, despite this promise, at times this season, Nunez has missed a couple of clear chances.

When he has been given too much time to think about what he needs to do in front of goal, he has lacked that clinical finish – instead, snatching at the ball.

This is something which will come over time, as he has already demonstrated signs of being able to remain composed in the final third.

As the attacker’s confidence grows, so will his strike rate.

Nunez has the ability to become a world-class player for Liverpool, and he has already become absolutely crucial to the way Jurgen Klopp’s side sets up.

This was another strong performance from the Uruguayan.
