Liverpool teammates Thiago Alcantara and Kostas Tsimikas looked ready to scrap during yesterday’s training session.
The Reds were back and sporting a fresh-looking new training kit yesterday. With no mid-week game this time around, all eyes are on getting revenge against Brighton on Sunday.
To that end, Liverpool players looked in high spirits during training. A little too high perhaps for Thiago’s liking. Tsimikas is well known to be a bit of a prankster around the squad, and it appears that Thiago took exception to some of his antics.
It’s highly unlikely that this was a serious exchange between the two. But still, it’s rare to see the Spaniard get quite so animated. Maybe leave him to cool off for a bit, Kostas!

Thiago shows his teeth
Although he’s baring the brunt of Thiago’s anger here, this is another example of why Tsimikas is so loved around the Liverpool squad.
He’s a guy who really seems to put people at ease. Since his £11.5m arrival in 2020, he seems to have become close with just about everyone at the club.
One of his closest pals seems to be Thiago. So, hopefully this little bust up doesn’t indicate a long-term rift. Knowing the relaxed nature of both players, that seems unlikely to happen.
On another note though, it’s good to see the fight in Thiago. Although very combative on the pitch, he isn’t usually one to get in the face of his opponents.

As Liverpool’s midfield has become increasingly easy to play through, we could do with a bit more of that.
Fabinho has long been the Reds go-to man for physicality in the middle of the pitch. But for all his big tackling. the Brazilian is another who tends to shy away from altercations.
It isn’t as though we want to see players fighting all the time, but sometimes you need a little bit of an edge.
In that respect, it’s fair to accuse Liverpool of being a little too nice all over the pitch. But it’s in the midfield where this is most readily noticed. Jordan Henderson and James Milner are two who aren’t afraid of a bit of argy-bargy, but as Liverpool struggle to be at their best, a bit more of this from the likes of Thiago wouldn’t go amiss.
