Liverpool would have to triple Tottenham Hotspur’s previous offer for Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports. The Reds want the Moroccan.
Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Liverpool are ‘seriously thinking’ of signing Sofyan Amrabat in January. They’re big fans of the player, it seems, but Fiorentina won’t let him go easily.
They just outright want to keep him and it’ll take a massive fee to pry him away from Tuscany. That fee could be as high as £40m, says the article.
They’re not the only club interested, however. Tottenham Hotspur also want Amrabat – and they’ve chased him all year long. Go back to January and the Guardian reported that they had a loan-to-buy offer in the pipeline.

That offer shows just how high Amrabat’s stock has risen. The report claims Spurs valued Amrabat at around £13m, meaning his value has tripled.
But after such a stellar World Cup, perhaps that shouldn’t be a surprise.
Clubs ready offer for Sofyan Amrabat
Amrabat was one of the surprise stories of the World Cup as he played a significant role in Morocco finishing a record-breaking fourth. No wonder the likes of Ally McCoist called him ‘magic’.
We loved his performances, too, and there’s little doubt that Amrabat would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool. Even at £40m as he’d give them the tough-tackling midfielder they arguably lack right now.

Amrabat is also one of the only potential midfield targets who could actually move in January. The likes of Enzo Fernández and Jude Bellingham almost certainly won’t, after al, so if the Reds want to boost their side this winter, the Moroccan is a fantastic option.
In fact, he might just be the outright-best option.
This is one to watch, then. Yes, the World Cup has inflated his price but with good reason – there’s no doubt that Amrabat can play at the absolute highest level now. Any previous doubts are gone and Liverpool might have found the player they’re looking for.
