Liverpool are set to make a £39m bid for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat in January, according to Moroccan outlet Lions de L’Atlas.

With Jurgen Klopp reportedly meeting with the player’s agents prior to the World Cup, it is said the Reds have a ‘head start’ on the competition who also want to sign the 26-year-old.

As a result, it is believed the Morocco international has a ‘clear inclination’ towards a move to Anfield.

Lions de L’Atlas claim the Merseyside outfit have ‘let it known [they will] make a £39m offer’ to Fiorentina during the winter window.

Liverpool to make offer for Amrabat

After an incredible campaign out in Qatar, Amrabat will sure be on the radar for multiple clubs across Europe.

Helping Morocco to the semi-finals, the midfielder won possession more times than any other player at the tournament.

TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara claimed Amrabat was ‘exceptional’ for his country, and he consequently placed him in his Team of the Tournament.

At the moment, Fabinho is the only out-and-out number six at Anfield. Whilst Klopp has Stefan Bajcetic amongst his ranks, there isn’t another senior option available to compete with the Brazilian.

With a huge need for rotation, Liverpool should do all they can to sign Amrabat in January. He would add quality and depth to the squad, with the chance to give Fabinho a rest – which he has so desperately required all season.
