Liverpool are ahead in the race for Jude Bellingham, according to reports. It’s largely down to one current player.
This comes from the Mirror. They claim that Jordan Henderson is a key reason for Liverpool leading any race for Jude Bellingham.
The Reds are far from the only side wanting the player, after all. Half of Europe chase Bellingham – or at least, the club who might just have the money to do so.
But it’s said that Henderson has truly made an impression on the teenager. He’s been extolling the virtues of playing for Liverpool and Bellingham likes what he hears.
The player’s Dad, too, wants his son to head to Anfield. That’s particularly important as Mark Bellingham is the sole agent handling any deal for his son, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Convincing Bellingham is the key part of this race. It doesn’t appear that it’ll come down to money, nor will Borussia Dortmund simply sell to the highest bidder. Everything points to the Englishman picking his new club himself – and it’ll be the one who offers him the right environment.
Maybe that comes down to the role in the team, maybe it’s about the culture at the club. Maybe it’s simply the place where he feels he develops the best.
And so fortunately for Liverpool, it does feel as though they’re the club that ticks all the boxes. Bellingham would be the star, clearly likes what he hears from Henderson about the club itself, and their record for developing players under Jurgen Klopp is exceptional.
To hammer the point home further, Henderson’s message comes at a time when his reputation soared. He made a fantastic impression at the World Cup, earning praise form all corners. Harry Kane, for instance, labelled him ‘outstanding’ among other things.
Bellingham will see that and like that. Henderson is the greatest possible ambassador for Liverpool right now – and it sounds as though the Reds’ no.1 transfer target agrees.
