Jordan Henderson made a surprise visit to Jurgen Klopp and the Liverpool squad at their Dubai training camp today.
The skipper is currently enjoying a well-earned week off following England’s World Cup elimination on Saturday. But that hasn’t stopped him checking in on the Reds.
As seen on Liverpool’s official Twitter page, Henderson rocked up for a chat with his manager this morning.
Jurgen is obviously delighted to see his captain, greeting him with a surprised “Ho ho!” before grappling him into a bear hug. The two then exchange a few words with Klopp especially animated.
Andy Robertson also reacted to Henderson’s visit, issuing a deadpan line to the camera as the Reds geared up for training.
“We had a visitor at training today, the captain came and said hello to everyone,” said the 28-year-old, predicting the social media team’s strapline on the post. Got it in one, Robbo!
Henderson sets himself apart, again
This right here is what sets Henderson apart from 99 per cent of other footballers. The man is simply relentless.
After the heartbreak of a tight World Cup exit, you could have forgiven him a massive rest from football. But ‘rest’ seemingly isn’t a word the 32-year-old is familiar with.

How many other players would visit training in his position? It isn’t as though Henderson has a mass of time off, in theory he’s back in training at the weekend. And yet, his first thought is still to come and see his teammates.
It’s only a little thing, but it’s something that really marks our captain out as being something special.
He may not always get the credit he’s due for that, but that doesn’t stop him from doing it. And despite Robbo’s sarcasm, the players will surely have been delighted to see Henderson.
The £20m man showed during the World Cup that he still has so much to offer the midfield. Plenty of Liverpool fans were well aware of that anyway, but it’s always good to send a little reminder. Hendo certainly did that. Bring on the rest of the season.
