Zlatan Ibrahimovic has named reported Liverpool target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the most impressive player in Italy this season.
Kvaratskhelia has been a revelation since joining Napoli from the Georgian league last summer. And in an interview with Gazzetto dello Sport via Football Italia, Ibrahimovic sang his praises whilst assessing AC Milan’s title chances.
“We are second at the moment. Napoli are strong, Kvaratskhelia is the player who impressed me the most. But Juve are also coming back and Inter are in the running. We, however, are there,” said the legendary Swede.
“Plus, this is too particular a year with the winter break and the World Cup played in between, it will be a league more about condition and less about quality.

“And from my long experience of winning the Scudetto, I know that the second part of the season is always decisive.”
Kvaratskhelia’s scintillating form has led to all kinds of transfer rumours. Liverpool are reportedly one of the clubs keeping closest watch of his progress.
Flying Georgian out of Liverpool’s reach
Since he’s not at the World Cup, Kvaratskhelia feels to have drifted from the footballing consciousness a little.
Certinaly, while Liverpool have been preoccupied with the likes of Sofyan Amrabat and Enzo Fernandez, ‘Kvaradona’ has taken a back seat.

However, don’t expect him to stay back for very long. Once the season resumes, the 21-year-old will surely remind everyone why he’s one of the hottest talents in Europe right now.
Naturally, Napoli want to keep him. As per Goal, they won’t settle for anything less than £87m to reluctantly let him leave the club. As Liverpool look to fork out big fees on the likes of Jude Bellingham and Fernandez, that will surely be beyond them.
But as Luis Diaz latest injury has shown, the Reds are still only one injury away from real problems up-front. Kvaratskehlia would be the dream signing to remedy that.
Unfortunately, that will probably remain a dream. It seems likely that the flying Georgian will move on from Napoli at some stage. If that’s in a year or two, then Liverpool might be back in the picture. If he keeps impressing the likes of Ibrahimovic for the rest of the season though, he’ll be on the move much sooner than that.
