Liverpool also want to sign Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham alternative, according to reports. The Reds have grand plans.
This comes from Record. They claim that Liverpool are right at the front of the queue for Enzo Fernández – a Jude Bellingham alternative.
The suggestion is that Bellingham could be prohibitively expensive for clubs. That has both Liverpool and Real Madrid looking at Enzo, who is enjoying a wonderful World Cup of his own.
Not that the Argentine would be cheap. He has a €120m release clause, or around £100m. That would still be cheaper than Bellingham and there’s a chance that Benfica accept less.
This comes after reports from O Jogo that Real have conceded they won’t sign Bellingham and now view Enzo as their main target. Liverpool, though, appear to front both races.
Liverpool and a Jude Bellingham alternative
It’s been a big day for Enzo Fernández news. There are multiple claims out of Argentina that Liverpool have either agreed a deal with Benfica or offered a contract to the player.
Claims in Portugal don’t go quite that far – but they agree that Liverpool are leading the race over Real Madrid.

Undeniably, that’s fantastic news. Enzo is a sensational talent who will almost certainly become one of the world’s best midfielders. He could be that already, in fact, given his form for both Benfica and Argentina.
Thus £100m isn’t too much to pay. He’s still only 21, after all – just how good is he going to be in five years? Especially as Enzo is pretty much perfect for Liverpool. His strength is that he has no obvious weakness – a versatile midfielder who can switch up his game on the fly.
Jurgen Klopp loves midfielders like that. Bellingham might be the ultimate example but Enzo isn’t far behind. It would be sensational to land both but either one could transform Liverpool’s future.
