Liverpool have offered Enzo Fernández a contract, according to one prominent Argentine Journalist. The midfielder appears to be a key target.
This comes from Juan Pablo Varsky – a prominent Argentinian journalist. He took to Twitter to claim that Liverpool have put a contract on the table for Enzo Fernández.
“Liverpool’s interest in Enzo Fernández is true and he even approached the player with a contract offer,” wrote Varsky. “There is still no negotiation with Benfica.
“His exit clause is 120 million euros. Real Madrid also has him on the radar.”
This comes hot on the heels of another report out of Argentina by La Capital. They claim that there is a pre-agreement between Liverpool and Benfica for Enzo.
Liverpool offer Enzo Fernández a contract
The two claims are slightly contradictory, then. One believes Liverpool have made moves with Benfica, the other with Enzo himself.
What’s clear is that sources in Argentina believe something is happening. Liverpool quite plainly have eyes on Enzo – as has been the claim from Portugal for some time – and they could be making their moves.
Record, A Bola, and O Jogo all believe Liverpool are there in the running for Enzo next summer. It’s possible, though, that his performances at the World Cup have forced them to accelerate their plans.
That would make some sense and we’re fully behind the idea. But there’s only one issue – what does it mean for Jude Bellingham?

We find it hard to believe that Liverpool would try to sign Enzo and jeopardise a deal for Bellingham. The latter is their no.1 target by all accounts and would cost a record fee.
Can Liverpool afford both? Surely not, right? We’re talking £200m for both and while that would be amazing, it’s also very unrealistic.
We’re excited, then, at the prospect of Liverpool moving for Enzo. Some things don’t quite add up how we’d like, though – so we’ll just hold off on welcoming him to Anfield.
